Apprentices USA Partnerships HBCU and PBI Webinar

The White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities in collaboration with The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans Institutions has been working with the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Apprenticeship to host a webinar on June 9th from 2:30p.m.-4:00p.m EST for HBCUs and Predominately Black Institutions (PBIs) to learn about the Registered Apprenticeship-College Consortium (RACC). This innovative partnership was launched by Vice President Biden during the 2014 American Association of Community Colleges' annual meeting and Today the Department of Labor has 248 colleges in the RACC! The partnership supports increasing articulation between Registered Apprenticeship program sponsors with HBCUs and PBIs to create a new pipeline of degree seekers and enhance the competitiveness of American industry by enlarging the pool of highly-trained workers that possess in-demand skills and competencies.

This webinar will feature a presentation by departmental programs within the U.S. Department of Labor highlighting opportunities within the RACC. Attendees will gain an understanding of how their work and capabilities match RACC opportunities. HBCU/PBI Presidents, Chancellors, Executive Board members, Deans of Workforce Development, Academic Administrators, and Career Counselors are invited to view the webinar live and ask questions.

This is a great opportunity to expand Registered Apprenticeship opportunities for African-Americans.
