June 2019 Community Highlights

We are 2,281 members as of the end of June!  I want to highlight some of what was shared in the community for those who are new, and anyone seeking a refresher of what we've discussed.

We've been talking media literacy, what knowledge members have, and what they are interested in learning about, in order to take into their classrooms.  Are you interested in incorporating media literacy with your learners?  It's not too late to share your interest and ideas with us.

We had member, Marta Ellis, share with us her success in contacting the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) to connect entry-level workers with a landscape career pathways program in San Antonio, TX.  Marta reached out the NALP based on a posting in the community.  It goes to show the power of our network!

We also had member, Michele Tate, make her first posts in the Community.  She commented on the March 2019 discussion on the impact of the opioid epidemic on adult education, and also the discussion on finding your passion and never working a day in your life.  Congratulations to Michele on her first of what we hope are many posts.

What did you take away from the LINCS Community this month?

Best,

Mike Cruse
