Teaching about StudentAid.gov

The new StudentAid.gov is now easier for borrowers to navigate and learn about federal student aid options.  The site combines functionality from StudentLoans.gov, fsaid.ed.gov, and nslds.ed.gov into a single, one-stop resource for teaching and learning with learners pursuing post-secondary training and education.  Is financial aid education and counseling part of your career pathways program?  The new site is the perfect place to begin.

When you visit the new StudentAid.gov, you’ll more clearly see information about the federal student aid you’ve received. Users can complete multiple tasks, like learning about what types of aid are available to you, filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form, completing loan counseling, and finding the right repayment plan for individual circumstances.

Some borrowers will be introduced to a virtual assistant named “Aidan.” Get it? Aidan?  The Department's use of artificial intelligence to learn how to better help borrowers get answers will continue to develop as users educate Aidan about their needs.  The Department is also making enhancements to its mobile app, myStudentAid, so borrowers can seamlessly switch between completing tasks on the mobile app and web.
