Tips for Helping Adults Transition to Postsecondary Education or Training

Thank you to Dr. Meghan McBride for sharing her journey from teenage mom to passing a GED test to being part of the 1% percent of teen mothers who complete a Bachelor's degree before the age of 30. Dr. McBride is currently the Vice President for Adult Education at Georgia Piedmont Technical College and shared information about some bridge and Integrated Education and Training (IET) programming they are doing. You can find out more about their Ready, Set, Leap program here

Also, here are some statistics we shared during the live event-

Approximately 66% of students who enter an adult education program do so with the goal of attending college

HOWEVER, only around 31% enroll in postsecondary education over a five-year time period

AND of those, less than 12% graduate with a degree

See below for some questions to consider and join in the conversation with us on how to improve these statistics!
