ED's 2022 Advancing Equity in Career-Connected Education Summit

The Advancing Equity Summit is an important component of the U.S. Department of Education’s ongoing efforts to implement Executive Order 13985, Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government, and will further the goals of the Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) for all youth and adults to be ready for and have meaningful access to quality college and career pathways.

The Advancing Equity Summit will bring together individuals from the Department of Education, other federal agencies, state and local agencies, institutions of higher education, advocacy organizations, foundations, and research and evaluation organizations. Participants will obtain and share information on research, evidence-based strategies, and innovative practices that advance equity across career-connected education.  Breakout sessions will feature presentations from experts from the field and interactive discussions that cover topics such as:

  • Applying an equity framework in research and evaluation in career-connected education
  • Strategies and models for equity in student support services in career, technical education and adult education
  • Expanding access to, and opportunities to succeed in, community colleges
  • Noteworthy strategies and practices for correctional and reentry education programs

I hope you will join us on February 2, 2022. Please share this invitation with others in your organization and professional network who may be interested. There is no cost to attend the Advancing Equity Summit; registration will remain open until it reaches capacity. For more information and to register for the summit, please visit this site.
