June is National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month. PTSD was first brought to public attention in relation to war veterans, but it can result from a variety of traumatic events. It is estimated that 7 to 8 percent of the American population will develop PTSD at some point in their lives.
