Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month

There are currently about 12 million people in the United States living with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Although often associated with combat veterans, PTSD is a mental health condition that can impact any person of any age after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. Such traumatic events might include military combat, sexual or physical violence, natural disasters, or severe accidents.

Even though PTSD treatments are effective and accessible, most people don't get the help they need. Help spread the word that PTSD treatments, including forms of talk therapy and medication, are available.
