October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)

NDEAM is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, Office of Disability Employment Policy.  This year’s theme is, "Disability: Part of the Equity Equation," recognizing the vital role people with disabilities play in making the nation's workforce diverse and inclusive.  Below are three resources to help you celebrate our successes and build momentum for even greater change.

  • Check out 31 Days of NDEAM to learn about 31 actions you can take to advocate for persons with disabilities in the workplace, and workforce education and training.
  • Looking for stories of persons with disabilities in the workplace?  Check out the Campaign for Disability Employment's "Who I Am" public service announcement.  These short videos showcase nine people with disabilities and their road to employment in jobs providing for life-sustaining wages.
  • Share and highlight your work to build more inclusive access for people with disabilities with the NDEAM Social Media Kit.  You're also invited to bring your ideas or questions to our community.  Let's hear from you!
