The silent reading tests we give our students when they enter our programs tell us very little about their actual reading ability. What can we do to find out where our adult students are really struggling in their reading? Please join the LINCS Reading and Writing community on April 13 and 14, 2021 for a two-day discussion with adult literacy expert Dr. John Strucker. During the discussion, we will tackle such questions as: Two students can have identical silent reading profiles but have vastly different instructional needs. What can we as educators do to ensure our students are getting the instruction they need to improve their reading skills?

I looked for a link to the Reading and Writing Community in micro-groups and elsewhere but could not find it. Can you tell me how to find it, please? Direct email: Philip.Anderson@fldoe.org
Hi Philip,
You can find the Reading and Writing CoP here. The discussion is still active if you would like to contribute to it.
Thanks,
