Hello Teaching and Learning group! My name is Carmine, and I am going to be the new
moderator for your Teaching and Learning group—with a twist! We will continue to
discuss research-based instructional practices that help our learners achieve, but our
focus will be on expanding our repertoire of instructional strategies and practices to
serve all our learners well. Our students are incredibly diverse in their skills, abilities,
backgrounds, and needs. Together we will focus on those strategies that allow our most
difficult-to-serve, including special populations and learners who face barriers to
employment, to experience the same successes that our higher achievers experience.
Adult education is for everyone, and this group will be the space where we learn and
grow together to ensure that all our learners succeed. I am looking forward to getting to
know all of you better through our discussions and events.
