OCTAE - Open Educational Resources

Welcome to the LINCS Open Educational Resources (OER) Group.

The group is a community of practice where practitioners, learners, and others discuss the use of Open Education Resources (OER) in adult education. Open Educational Resources (OER) are free and openly licensed educational materials that can be used for teaching and learning. OER are abundant, customizable, free, and convenient to integrate into lessons.

Quality OER can be powerful tools to enhance learning and instruction in adult education. OER help students achieve their learning goals by providing flexible and accessible supplements to instruction. OER encourage lifelong learning habits in students by providing them with personalized learning materials. OER also help educators do their job better by augmenting instruction and helping teachers learn about new topics and by providing online professional development.
