Fact vs. Opinion

Hello Colleagues, Distinguishing fact from opinion is not always straightforward for adult learners. You can find some useful resources for engaging learners in identifying fact versus opinion at the E-Reading Worksheets website. Having students come up with their own topics and then generate ideas that are facts and other ideas that are opinions can be effective. Here is a link to a graphic organizer that can be used for this purpose.

Have you had experiences with teaching this particular reading and thinking skill? If so, let us know what has worked well for you.
