New OER Course! Open Math-Open Resources: Engage Adult Learners for 21st-Century Skills

The LINCS Professional Development Center is offering a virtually facilitated, freely available course on Open Educational Resources (OER) for math.    Open Math-Open Resources: Engage Adult Learners for 21st Century Skills (April 22–June 17, 2019) will help math instructors find quality OERs for the adult education classroom, evaluate and assess OER effectiveness in meeting learning objectives, and provide instructors with ideas and resources for instructional strategies to introduce and engage adult learners learning math. Registration is limited to 15 participants. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.   The course will be facilitated by Heidi Schuler-Jones, a highly experienced LINCS Trainer.    All participants are required to first complete a 3.5 hour prerequisite course, Open Your Classroom with Open Educational Resources, in the LINCS Learning Portal and submit the course Certificate of Completion to Kaye Beall at pdcenter@lincs.ed.gov before registering.
  • Register here after submitting your Certificate of Completion.
The Open Math-Open Resources course lasts eight weeks, and enrollees should allot 3–5 hours for weekly engagement. The course is accessible online through the LINCS Learning Portal.   Special accommodations can be requested online 7-10 days prior to the start of the course, April 22.  Please contact pdcenter@lincs.ed.gov for assistance.   Keep learning!
