Re-Visioning Instruction and Support at Community Colleges to Support the Whole Student

Providing support for the whole student is an effort being implemented to increase the completion initiatives within Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Developmental Education (Dev Ed) programming.

From December 1-8, 2016, 9am-5pm (EST) the LINCS Postsecondary Completion group will host a discussion -- Re-Visioning Instruction and Support at Community Colleges to Support the Whole Student – featuring practitioners from St. Louis Community College and Amarillo College. The discussion will provide a range of strategies and models for success based on the U.S. Department of Education’s Supporting Student Success project, which studied successful strategies in reducing the amount of time adult learners spend in developmental education classes. Presented models feature: face-to-face advising, online media instruction, and integrated community based support.

Pose your questions and comments now! This is the third of three discussions hosted by the Supporting Student Success project.  Check out the first two discussions -  Building Bridges between Adult Basic Education and Developmental Education and Intensive Skill and College Readiness Programs at Community Colleges.

Thanks,

-The LINCS Team
