Teacher Appreciation Day!

Dear LINCS Community Members,

As we celebrate teachers today on Teacher Appreciation Day, I am grateful for all those among us who are passionate about changing the lives of the learners in their classrooms, those learners who in turn impact the lives of those around them in their families, communities, and workplaces. I am often reminded of the words of that early adult education pioneer, Myles Horton, who said that, "The fact is that people have within themselves the seeds of greatness, if they’re developed. It’s not a matter of trying to fill up people, but to fulfill people."

I believe that--not only about the learners you teach, but about the fine people who teach them. So take a moment to reflect on the difference you have made this week, last month, and over the years--when it comes to teaching, you are the single most important factor in developing those seeds of greatness!

Celebrating you!

Michelle
