Tomorrow! Teaching Academic Writing to Adult English Learners

Tomorrow, March 2nd from 1:00-2:30pm (ET), join the LINCS Community for “Teaching Academic Writing to Adult English Learners,” a 90-minute Webinar that will introduce various approaches for incorporating academic writing activities in the classroom.

Under WIOA, academic and professional writing is increasingly important for transitioning adult English learners to postsecondary training and for careers that pay family-sustaining wages. The webinar will review the results of a survey describing the place and characteristics of teaching academic writing in classes and provide an overview of instructional approaches that teachers can use.

The activity will continue after the webinar session with expert-led discussions (in the English Language Acquisition Group) that address specific academic writing approaches. Participants can expect to gain knowledge of various instructional approaches for teaching academic writing, as well as how to adapt approaches for learners at different proficiency levels. Participants will also learn about new resources for class writing and learning activities.

Register for the English Language Acquisition Group to join the conversation: Register and attend! (After registering you will be sent a personalized link to log into the Webinar.)

Thanks!
