Dear LINCS Community,

The area models webcast is now live! This 30-minute online video—part one of LINCS’ three-part series “Uncovering Coherence Using Area Models”—gives a general overview of how area models can be used to teach math and numeracy concepts to students of all levels. The webcast is available to view here

Part two of the series rolls out with continuing the conversation will continue in the LINCS Community of Practice. This discussion allows participants to delve deeper into the subject matter, ask questions, and share experiences of working with area models in their classrooms. The discussion will be accessible in the LINCS Math and Numeracy, College and Career Standards, and Evidence-Based Professional Development groups.

The, part three of the activity will be held on next Tuesday, March 1st, from 3 PM – 4 PM EST, with the presentation of the “Uncovering Coherence Using Area Models” webinar, where LINCS Math and Numeracy trainers Connie Rivera and Amy Vickers will give step-by-step instructions on how to use area models.

Area models are accessible to math students of all levels and are a great way for learners to visualize numeracy concepts. We hope you can join us!

Sincerely,

The LINCS Team
