Hello, everyone, I have a request and a suggestion concerning posting. Sometimes in our zeal we tend to send a post to as many groups as we belong to, without thinking about whether the topic of the post is germane to each particular group. I had been doing it myself, and realized that people in Technology probably had little interest in my musings on the intricacies of the nuances of the seven levels of pronunciation of the conjugation of the verb “to be”, for example.
One problem is that a good discussion on a topic can begin in a group, eliciting responses day by day, and then out of the blue get buried with irrelevant posts, which also generate their own responses.
Many years ago, we had to “cross-post” a message from one group to another, which was enough for us to think twice before posting it.
So, is it possible to begin the practice of limiting our posts to only those groups for which the content of the post is relevant? Can we do it “old-school”?
