Starting Wednesday –Watching Teaching in Action

Starting this Wednesday, April 9, Meryl Becker-Prezocki will host and moderate a special two and a half-week discussion in the College and Career Standards group. Watching Teaching in Action will take group members inside schools to watch how teachers are implementing standards in their classroom.

Throughout this activity, participants will view and respond to guided questions on a couple select short (5-8 minute) instructional videos from the Teaching Channel that demonstrate a variety of instructional practices and strategies in incorporating standards in the classroom.

Joining the online discussion will be six guest adult educators from Kentucky who have participated in the Kentucky Adult Education Common Core Standards Professional Development: Cris Crowley, Sherraine Williams, Jennifer Bruce, Kitty Head, John Greenwell, and Amy Matthews. These guest adult educators will share their classroom experiences in adapting and incorporating practices and strategies from the videos in their adult education classrooms along with other lessons learned.

Please join the College and Career Standards group to participate in this special discussion.
