Happening Now: USCIS Adult Citizenship Content Standards Discussion

Starting today, U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) hosts a three-day discussion on topics covered in its handbook—“Guide to the Adult Citizenship Education Content Standards and Foundation Skills”—a framework for developing a comprehensive curriculum to help “eligible Lawful Permanent Residents prepare for the naturalization interview and test.”

Hosted on the Adult English Language Learners discussion thread in the LINCS Community, the purpose of the discussion is to help adult education practitioners improve the instructional services they provide to adult English Language Learners preparing for citizenship. To do so, USCIS will introduce the guide and other related resources. Kelton Williams, an Education Program Specialist with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Office of Citizenship, Division of Citizenship Education and Training, will answer questions about content and standards related to the naturalization interview and test, including pre- and post-interview components.

No registration is required, but the event ends on October 20th. So drop by today!

See you there!
