Help Us Fight Spam

While the LINCS Community has a number of behind-the-scenes strategies in place to block spam, some spam messages will inevitably continue to appear. We want to make sure you are on the alert for spam and know how you can help reduce its occurrence.

How to recognize spam:

  • If a post with a link does not appear to be in response to the current discussion topic or another member’s post, or if it does not make sense contextually, the post may be spam. To protect yourself, your electronic device, and your information, do not click on any suspicious links.
  • Some spammers begin their posts with one or two sentences that are relevant to the discussion topic, to mislead readers. Watch out for posts that seem relevant but eventually divert from the original topic.
  • Commercial posts are not permitted and are considered spam.

How to report suspected instances of spam:

  • On a discussion: Hover your mouse over the “Subscribe to this post” button, and click “Report this content.”
  • On a comment: Click the “report this comment” link.

Thank you for helping us ensure the LINCS Community is a spam-free, content-rich space!
