Dear LINCS Community,

On January 26th, from 3 – 4:30 PM EST, the LINCS Adult English Language Learners group is hosting an interactive webinar on acclimating immigrant professionals to the workplace. The webinar will be followed by a conversation in the community for the remainder of the week.

Special guest presenters from the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians will share their strategies for serving immigrant professionals. The Welcoming Center is a Philadelphia-based organization that connects newly-arrived U.S. immigrants with employers and professional development resources.

The webinar will cover ideas and models in place at the Welcoming Center, including some challenges adult immigrant educators struggle with as well as strategies to accelerate English language learning and develop workplace skills.

Following the webinar, presenters will continue the discussion in the LINCS Adult English Language Learners group. The discussion is an integral part of the activity, where the presenters will delve further into the concepts explored during the webinar, facilitate discussion among the LINCS Community members, and answer questions that participants may have. Participants can also share their own strategies that they have used in working with this population.

We hope you can join us! Please register now!

Sincerely,

The LINCS Team
