2018 National Apprenticeship Week: Creating Tomorrow

  • The U.S. Department of Labor has announced the launch of Apprenticeship.gov, an innovative web portal that features an Apprenticeship Finder that connects career seekers looking for high-skilled, high-paying careers with employers investing in their workforce through apprenticeship. LEARN MORE

 

  • The U.S. Department of Labor has developed a number of resources for organizations interested in learning about industry-recognized apprenticeship programs (IRAPs). These programs were established by President Trump’s Executive Order “Expanding Apprenticeships in America.” A Training and Employment Notice was issued on July 27, 2018, to create the framework for the programs. On September 20, 2018, the Department of Labor began soliciting public comments on the IRAP accreditation application.   • The President’s National Council for the American Worker and the American Workforce Policy Advisory Board, both established by an Executive Order on July 19, will recommend strategies for training and retraining American workers – including the use of apprenticeships. LEARN MORE
