All aboard for Blended Learning!

We learn everything through a combination of methods which we call formal, non-formal and informal learning or teaching. The formal method of course describes a class with a teacher usually in a school. Non-formal defines the way we learn with a tutor or a friend who helps us learn something. And informal is basically the domain of the independent learner. Most of the people in our groups teach in a formal setting. But with the shift to online learning one way or the other, automatically we are engaged in informal and non-formal learning methods at the same time.  The link between language acquisition and language learning, for example, becomes firmly established. And this has all come about through the means of Blended learning.  So far everything I have read has shown that people who have shifted to BL are having success and....like it! Students and teachers alike. And there should be no reason to abandon it once the crisis is over. So I would suggest that it is now time for us to talk about forming Community literacy centers that include all of us educators and which would be able to expand exponentially if we cooperate more with each other in raising funds and sharing resources and expertise. The Blended learning train is here....all aboard!!!!
