Thanks for sharing this article, Gayle! It did an excellent job of making mathematical modeling understandable and applicable to those who love math and those who don't. The "best" baseball team example was a great way to demonstrate the flexibility that comes from modeling math. It sounded like a conversation one might have with a group of friends debating a topic of interest to them vs solving a word problem. Love it!
