Do you work with homeless youth or adults?

Friends,

I noticed this article about the increase of homeless students in New York public schools. From the article, In schools where at least 30 percent of students are homeless, the principals’ offices often double as informal counseling rooms for desperate parents and children."

What does this look like in your adult education programs? How many of us are serving homeless adults and families? Furthermore, what does this look like in addressing the mental health and physical health needs of our students? Are we seeing increase needs for counseling in adult education programs? Or have we always worked with the marginalized members of our communities?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this! How are you addressing the increase of homeless individuals, even in an economy that is considered at full employment.

Sincerely,
Kathy Tracey
