Health Literacy Jobs Posting thread

Greetings, Colleagues!

There have been a few Health Literacy job postings that I've received via email over the last few months.  I thought I would start a thread here for posting job openings that might be of interest to the Health Literacy group --  to consider and/or pass on.  Please feel free to add health literacy-related postings to the thread.

Greetings!  Here is a job posting from Wisconsin Health Literacy (Applications due January 15, 2016)

Wisconsin Health Literacy (WHL) is inviting applications for a new part-time Health Literacy Project Coordinator position.  The person selected will help implement a two-year project entitled "Adopting a Patient-Centered Prescription Medication Label in Wisconsin," funded by the Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program through the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). The goal is to encourage adoption of easier-to-understand prescription medication labels, based on guidelines introduced by the U.S. Pharmacopeia in 2013.

WHL will be working with an MCW academic partner, 3 partner pharmacy groups in 46 individual pharmacy locations and pharmacy software vendors to test new label formats and implement them in the pharmacies.  The Project Coordinator is supervised by the Health Literacy Director and will also work with a student intern on tasks which may include a campaign to secure signatures from patients supporting new labels, setting up meetings of the project's Steering Team, Stakeholder Advisory Council and Patient Advisory Council, development of prototype labels to be tested in patient focus groups, communication with project partner pharmacies and managing logistics for a Medication Labeling Summit in April 2017.

Hours

The position starts at 20 hours per week, based on current funding, and continues at a minimum through December 31, 2017.  Due to growth of health literacy initiatives, it is possible, but not guaranteed, that this position will expand in hours and continue beyond that point.

Job-Specific Qualifications

Candidates should hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in health communications, public health, nursing, pharmacy, other health professions or a related field; 2-3 years of related work experience; strong verbal, written and presentation skills; strong organizational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.  Experience in a health services environment and project management and event planning experience preferred. Occasional travel required.

To Apply

Send resume and cover letter by January 15 to: healthliteracy@wisconsinliteracy.org or mail to Health Literacy Director, Wisconsin Literacy, Inc., 211 S. Paterson St., Suite 260, Madison, WI  53703. (In cover letter, please note ability to add hours if needed.)
