Integrating Digital Literacy into Instruction

Hello colleagues, The LINCS Resource Collection features so many wonderful instructional materials. One resource that many teachers would find especially useful is Integrating Digital Literacy into English Language Instruction. In this ESL Pro digital magazine, you will find oodles of amazing and practical instructional resources. This online magazine addresses ways to integrate technology based on a program's context. For instance, are devices available for each student or do students use their own?

Here are just a few of the useful ideas featured:

  • Basic searching and other skills on the digitallearn.org site. For example, the introduction to online searching course includes 4 quick videos that only take 7 minutes total
  • Steps for students to create a digital invitation, complete with a map
  • Classroom videos and a lot of lessons and activities demonstrating ideas for using cell phones effectively in class
  • Tips on how to guide students in creating effective presentations. Do you know about the 7x7 rule for presentations?
  • Advice on how to manage a multilevel classroom when integrating digital literacy into a lesson

And there are many more practical suggestions in this resource. Check it out today!
