I am interested in hearing from any ABE/ELL, Health Literacy or Career Pathways programs that are incorporating information on workers' rights into their curriculum. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) provides for workplace protections in the U.S. Many workers, especially those in low-skill employment, are not aware of their rights, and are also at the greatest risk for workplace injury or death.
OSHA has published a Workers' Rights resource, which lays the foundation for understanding and educating adult learners about their rights in the workplace. Do you share this, or any other workplace safety information, with students? If not, would you be interested in learning more about OSHA and other resources to help learners better understand their rights, and the grievance process for addressing concerns relating to workplace health and safety?
