Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act

President Trump has signed the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act into law.  The law allows states to set their own goals for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, and requires them to make progress toward these goals, as well as other changes to federal CTE law.

Is this an opportunity for states to work on creating more opportunities for adult learners in traditionally K-12-focused CTE programs?  What goals do we, as adult educators, see for this new legislation to serve adult learners in career pathways program?  Now is the time to have this discussion, so that we can begin advocating with leaders in your state’s K-12 system.

Share your thoughts, and questions, on this new legislation, and how you plan to work for full inclusion of adult learners in your state’s CTE programs.
