What apps do you use for work?

To be honest, I am a little bit old-fashioned. When people around me try various productivity apps, I am the one who uses just a notebook and a pen.

At the same time, I like testing something new and discover apps to use them on a regular basis, mainly for work.

For now, my list looks like this:

1. Laverna - https://laverna.cc/

An Evernote-like app, but it does not require registration and helps me to save information that may be interesting for students. (By the way, i also inspired me to read more about Roman deities).

2. Audacity - https://www.audacityteam.org/about/screenshots/

I've noticed that students like to dub their favorite movies. It's a far more interesting way to improve pronunciation.

3. MacFly Pro - https://macflypro.com/remove-duplicate-files-on-mac/

This one helps me to deal mainly with audio files when I repeatedly download them. By the way, how do you organize all your materials you use for classes? My collection is a bit messy.

4. Storycubes - https://www.storycubes.com/collection.

Really simple, but it triggers imagination. Students make up a story and learn boring grammar rules at the same time.

How about you? What apps do you find useful?

Hi Gregory and all, Thanks for posting this really interesting list, Gregory. A lot of teachers and students use Quizlet for finding and making flashcards. The flashcards can be created with audio and photos as well as just text. The games on Quizlet make learning vocabulary fun.

For teaching, I just downloaded this interesting app TeachFX, which tracks the amount of time the teacher talks compared to how much students talk. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to. I am convinced, as they say on their site, that the amount of time students talk is related to how much they learn!

Looking forward to hearing about other apps teachers find useful!
