Richland College in collaboration with the Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving-Institution (AANAPISI) Program is hosting a two day conference for institutions of higher education interested in improving minority student success. The conference will be held on Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Dallas, Texas.
The theme of the Richland College Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) Convening is “Using Data to Effect Change.” Through this annual convening, we hope to provide an opportunity for minority serving institutions to:
- introduce effective research, initiatives and programs that impact academic success of students,
- build collaborations between colleges to expand programs showing evidence of success or promise, and
- cultivate connections within communities of practice to share knowledge and advance research that promotes equity.
Proposals are being accepted for workshops that focus on collecting and using data effectively and presentations on successful or developing, evidence-based programs and initiatives. We are also accepting proposals for posters (graduate students only). Proposals will be accepted through Monday, June 5, 2017.

Thanks for posting this information on the MSI convening, Jennifer.
I had the opportunity to present on some work that I am associated with related to MSIs and it was such a great experience! For other MSCCA that have some great things going on or if you're interested in sparking ideas, this is a really good meeting to attend.
Thanks, Edmund. It was great meeting you last fall and we hope to see you again this year.
