This one-hour webinar will be a tour of USA Learns' new Access America course, which covers the civic, workplace, linguistic, economic, and local integration topics that immigrants and refugees in the U.S. need to improve their opportunities for escaping poverty and achieving economic security. This free course is designed for smartphones as well as web browsers, so it can be accessed by learners who have busy schedules or live in rural areas. Access America includes hundreds of multimedia elements that teach English language and digital literacy skills. The wide range of topics includes life skills (e.g., banking, home safety), workplace (e.g., soft skills, getting a promotion), family (e.g., finding daycare, starting school), and more. The course also teaches about how to access local services and resources.

Presented by the Open Door Collective Immigrants and Refugees Issues Group
