The Pandemic Pivot - What are you doing to educate those those behind & beyond our prison walls?

Hi. Over the past year educators and program administrators have pivoted in order to continue to educate the men and women behind our prison walls and those that have been released. I have heard stories of creative remote classes, outdoor programming with social distancing, engaging platforms, and student persistence in securing an academic goal or occupational certification. This is your chance to share your successes, challenges, and even seek advice on how you can effectively serve your students. Please feel free to share, comment, and vent with educators from across the country, all seeking one goal: to educate and elevate our students. Looking forward to a great discussion. Jeff A

Hi.

I have been receiving calls from instructors and administrators that are beginning to open their programs to make our men and women in correctional facilities smarter. Although the needs vary from facility to facility, the questions are very similar:

What can we do to safely reopen and provide robust academic support for our students. If you have some ideas please share.

We are  all in this together and we will all get out of this stronger and hopefully wiser.
