September is National Workforce Development Month. Below are three ideas for celebrating workforce development month. Please share additional ideas in this discussion thread.

Idea #2- Promote Success Stories on your Social Media Pages

The National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) provides the following tips in their social media toolkit:

  1. Share your success: Show the positive benefits of Workforce Development by sharing stories of real customers who have benefited from the program; or share how customers have contributed to the growth and success of your organization/industry.
  2. Share a picture or video: Post a photo or short video showcasing your organization’s success in helping individuals succeed in the workforce.
  3. Educate users with shareable assets: Post shareable assets on Facebook or Twitter that educate your online community about the impacts of Workforce Development in America.
  4. Share a tip: Have insight into Workforce Development opportunities or resources? Share them on social using the #WorkforceDevelopmentMonth hashtag to help educate audiences nationwide about Workforce Development.

Idea #3- Participate in Professional Development Focused on Workforce Preparation Activities for Adult Learners

  1. Attend the live Zoom event Exploring Workforce Preparation Using the Pennsylvania Foundation Skills on September 20, 2023 from 3-4:00 PM (ET). This event will provide an opportunity to learn about a new resource to help adult learners become more prepared for the workforce.
