This session will ask participants to comment on and offer ideas regarding state requirements—and opportunities -- for evaluation and research under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), found primarily under Section 116 (e).

The session will include an overview of the provisions in WIOA on:

  1. Conducting evaluations and research;
  2. Consultation requirements with state and local boards and other state agencies;
  3. Coordinating state evaluation and research with Federal research conducted by the U.S. Departments of Labor and Education); and
  4. Cooperation in providing information for Federal research conducted by the U.S. Departments of Labor and Education.
