Workforce GPS: Job Accommodations for Individuals in Recovery

This webinar will discuss reasonable accommodations in the workplace for individuals with addiction and substance use disorders.

This event is hosted by the Office of Workforce Investment as part of a series on opioid-addiction and the role of the workforce system.

This webinar is presented by Job Accommodation Network (JAN) on reasonable accommodations in the workplace for individuals with addiction and substance use disorders. JAN is a service of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy/ODEP.

JAN provides free one-on-one practical guidance and technical assistance on: Job accommodation solutions and Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related legislation. This webinar will include a walk through on how to use JAN services and a breakdown of ADA concepts including – what is an accommodation, how individuals meet the definition of disability under the ADA, and how individuals may disclose and ask for modifications in the workplace. There will also be many real examples from JAN customers to illustrate the interactive process.
