Happening Now: Building Bridges Between Adult Basic Education and Developmental Education

The Building Bridges Between Adult Basic Education (ABE) and Developmental Education (Dev Ed) discussion is underway! This special activity will discuss the relationships between Dev Ed and ABE programming. These programs range in spectrum from little/no integration to full communication and collaboration.

In support of this effort, the LINCS Postsecondary Completion Group is hosting a discussion this week – October 17–21, 9am–5pm (EST) – that will provide a range of evidence-based strategies and models for success. These will be drawn from the U.S. Department of Education’s Supporting Student Success project, which studied successful strategies for reducing the amount of time adult learners spend in developmental education classes.

Join the discussion to pose your questions or comments.

The conversation will be led by guest speakers Deans Vicki Bozzuto, Gateway Community College, and Tamara Clunis, Amarillo College. Gateway’s programming focuses on assisting students with an accelerated approach, and Amarillo’s students have incredible access to support services because of their holistic approach to student support.

Tune into the conversation for more!

Thank you!
