Description: Join LINCS and filmmaker, Carmen Vincent, for a conversation on the art of disclosure. Learn the steps to create a personal disclosure narrative and record your story using accessible technology tools. We will also discuss personal decision-making around disclosure, while highlighting individual skills and abilities and making accommodations and supports clear.

Live Session: Contextualized Math Instruction Using Virtual Meetings and Google Sheets

DescriptionHas transitioning your math instruction to a remote environment been challenging? Join David Hilder as he demonstrates using technology to teach industry-contextualized math skills using Google Sheets and Zoom. Participants will play the role of students in real time, while the presenter models ways to engage and assist participants. Strategies for how to create activities and streamline technical access will also be shared.

Live Session: The Humanity of Education for All

DescriptionHuman Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December — the day in 1948 when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The UDHR is a milestone document that proclaims the inalienable rights which everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Join the Correctional & Reentry Education Community of Practice as we recognize and explore Human Rights Day. This event will discuss and consider the right to education for all individuals -- in particular for those incarcerated around the world. We will also dive into the barriers facing learners and educators as we strive to educate those most in need of basic literacy and skill development.
